2022 Hummer EV: GM's Electrified Answer to Raptor and Ram TRX

Back in 2010 Ford surprised everyone with the F-150 Raptor, an off road focused super truck. Packed with clever off road tech and hardware included a long travel suspension with superb Fox Racing shocks and all the structural reinforcement to the chassis to handle whatever drivers threw at it, the Raptor became a sales success. Uncontested for 10 years the Raptor, now in last years of its 2nd generation, met its match this year with the new Ram TRX. But how would General Motors(GM) respond?  I give you the upcoming 2022 Hummer EV, a convertible 4 door battery powered pickup truck and man is it cool, stupid expense, but cool.  Oh, and the top model has 1,000 hp. Can silent electric beat out gasoline combustion furry? Let's dive in.

2021 BMW M3 and M4 Announced- 5 Things to Know

35 years ago BMW blessed the world with its original E30 M3.  The idea was simple, modify their small 3-Series with a higher output engine and some other go fast goodies in the bodywork, suspension, etc then sell 5000 of them to the general public so BMW could go race Group A in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaf touring car series. What they ended up doing was creating an automotive icon and one of my all time favorite sports sedans.

Fast forward to today and BMW has just unveiled the 6th generation of their famous M3 sports sedan and 2nd generation of their M4 sports coupe as a 2021 model.  For those of you not in the know on BMW history, in 2013 BMW split out the 3-Series coupe and convertible as the 4-Series while leaving the sedan and wagon with the 3-Series title hence only the 2nd generation of the M4. Ok, car nerd moment over, let's take a look at 5 things to know on the new M3 and M4.

Welcome to DRIVEN GT!

I want to humbly welcome you to DRIVEN GT.  I spend my free time driving, watching 15 year old episodes of Top Gear, reading auto news, watching YouTube car channels, and day dreaming about cars. I'm talking crazy 600 horsepower German station wagons to tiny hatchbacks, off roaders to sports sedans, and everything in between.  Why? Because I love the car.  It's a passion I can use to bring you objective reviews, news, and insights into all things automotive here in North America. Maybe some history and commentary as well.

Whether the focus is on design, performance, or the little details that elevate a good car to a great car let's explore what sets a vehicle apart. Not just because it sets your hair on fire or stirs your soul (I mean who doesn't want that) but cars that are great because they accomplish their designer's/engineer's intent; to stand out among the sea of choice.

Thank you again, and please comment, share, and enjoy!
